The already popular Kindle application that Amazon made available for the users of Android-based devices has just been updated with a new home appearance and with a series bug fixes included into the mix.

The application is available for download in the Android Market as version 3.1.0.30, and can be installed on all devices running under Google's Android 2.1 or newer OS flavors.

The new application release was made available only a few days ago, weighs in at 3.2MB, and can be downloaded for free from the application store here.

The release notes for the new Kindle app for Android version 3.1.0.30 include:

- New home experience with easy access to store - Access book recommendations in your library - In-app upgrade notifications - Several bug fixes. Users should know that, while the application is available for free, it requires access to Amazon's Kindle books, and that they are not free.

“The Kindle app is optimized for Android devices giving users the ability to read Kindle books on a beautiful, easy-to-use interface,” the application's description reads.

“You’ll have access to over 950,000 books in the Kindle Store, including popular new releases and New York Times Best Sellers from $9.99. Read thousands of free ebooks and over 100 newspapers & magazines.”

There are over 950,000 Kindle books available in the Kindle Store, Amazon notes, adding that over 610,000 of these books cost $9.99 or less.

Users of Honeycomb-based tablet PCs will enjoy a series of optimizations for the larger screens of their devices, with a new layout of the library, and with an improved experience.

Among the features of this application, we can count the fact that it also offers users the possibility to find specific books in the Kindle Store, or to find specific paragraphs within a book.

Not to mention that users can enjoy the reading of a book on a wide range of supported devices, including Android smartphones and tablets, the iPhone, Kindle devices, PCs and Macs, and more.
