With the trade in features users can save up to 70% from the initial value of the textbooks, or other eligible items, including DVDs, electronics, video games and more.
Amazon also throws in an interesting competition that runs starting today through December 15 and offers customers who use the Amazon Student app the chance to win a $1,000 Amazon.com Gift Card in the Trade In to Win Sweepstakes. Those who want to enter the competition should know that no purchase is necessary.
Other features offered by Amazon Student app include access to customer reviews, sharing via e-mail, detailed product information, Facebook, Twitter, and purchasing via Amazon Prime.
There’s also an interesting feature that allows users to scan a barcode and instantly check the price of a certain item they wish to purchase.
Amazon Student for Android is now available as a free download from Android Market and is fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.1 and up.
