All Kindle Fires will be ad-supported out of the box

The new Kindle Fire and the Kindle Fire HD, both models, will come with ads out of the box, on the lock screen and on the home screen. There's no way to buy a Kindle Fire without ads, but you can at least opt out of the feature after you buy your tablet for $15, €12.

It's a reasonable figure, it's less than what Amazon charged for the same thing on Kindle ereaders. Still, the ads are probably going to be an unwelcomed surprise to most buyers.

Initially, the ads were unavoidable, but it seems that Amazon listened to the critics and introduced the option to have them removed from the device, for a price.

Still, Amazon is confident that most people won't mind the ads which is probably true.

"We know from our Kindle reader line that customers love our special offers and very few people choose to opt out. We’re happy to offer customers the choice," Amazon said.

Granted, the fact that Amazon doesn't really advertise the fact that you can have the ads removed or make it easy to do so, may have something to do with that.

The revamped Kindle Fire and the new Kindle Fire HD aren't shipping just yet, so Amazon still has time to make small tweaks like this.

Having the products revealed ahead of availability has this advantage, the downside being that you get potential buyers fired up for nothing. You're also wasting the hype of the launch.

That said, the Amazon tablets are going to sell in the millions and the upcoming Christmas season is key to that. It's also when most people are going to be interested in buying them, so the fact that the devices aren't available yet isn't that important for Amazon.
