Brings only a few improvements, but breaks root in the process

Keeping with its strategy making small improvements to the Kindle Fire on a regular basis, Amazon has just released a new firmware update.

Known as the 6.2.2 version by Amazon, the new update adds a button that lets you enable full screen Web surfing in the Silk browser, but this is pretty much all that you get according to liliputing.

The update will be pushed over-the-air to all the Fire’s with a working Internet connection, or can be downloaded manually from the Kindle Fire software update page.

As always, upgrading the Kindle Fire tablet to the 6.2.2 software will break root.

Hackers however are always ready, so you can download a new revision of the BurritoRoot utility that was specifically designed to root the Fire’s running 6.2.2 firmware.
