As we have become accustomed by now, Amazon is trying to lure more customers to march under the Kindle Fire banner, so it regularly shaves off prices for most models in the line-up.

As it is the case today, because Amazon is offering the 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD with 16GB of internal storage for $229 / €167, down from the original $269 / €197.

For those of you who are wondering if the Kindle Fire HD is a good tablet to have around, the product comes bundling an 8.9-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and draws power from a 1.5GHz dual-core TI OMAP 4470 processor combined with 1GB of RAM.

The tablet is also equipped with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, a frontal camera and runs Amazon’s own customized version of Android 4.0.3, Fire OS (which has an update ready and waiting for you).

Note the 32GB model of the Kindle Fire HD 8.9-inch is not currently discounted.
