Amazon Kindle devices are usually subject to discounts. While in the US, Amazon is slashing their prices to celebrate the NCAA March Madness tournament, customers in India are being lured to jump into the Kindle bandwagon by being offered an alternate payment option.

From now on, those thinking of purchasing the original Kindle, Kindle Paperwhite or the Kindle Fire tablets, can do so by taking advantage of the EMI option.

When buying one of the above-mentioned devices, customers can opt for the EMI option coming from three different bands, including CitiBank, HDFC and ICICI Bank.

In addition to offering this alternate payment offer, Amazon India has set up special prices for its Kindle product, as to celebrate the new EMI option, which lasts for two weeks.

So those looking for a Kindle companion in their life can get the new Kindle Paperwhite for Rs 10,080 / $168 / €131 , while the basic Kindle model sells for Rs. 5,600 / $93 / €68

Now let’s say you want to take up the EMI option of paying for the device in 12 months. This means each month you will have to pay Rs. 900 / $15 / €11 for the Kindle Paperwhite. It does sound like a very good deal for those who can’t squeeze a device in their budget, at the moment.
