Want a small tablet that you can fit anywhere, even in your pocket? Amazon has your back thanks to its latest, cutest tablet product to date.

You might be aware that Amazon is in the process of heavily refreshing its product lineup with new tablets, eReader and even a fresh software version.

Well, while considering the upgrade strategy, Amazon suddenly realized it needed a super small tablet that actually seems more like a phone. So it created the Fire HD 6 which comes with a 6-inch display.

The Amazon Fire HD 6 is small and portable

The tablet offers pretty basic specs but given the low price tag, you shouldn’t be too shocked. The Fire HD takes advantage of 1280 x 800 pixel density, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 8GB or 16GB of built-in storage and two cameras (a 2MP one on the back and a 0.3MP one up in front).

Since this is an entry-level device, it only takes advantage of a mono speaker and single-band Wi-Fi. However, its compactness might make you put all these disadvantages behind you. The small tab measures 6.7 x 4.1 x 0.4 inches / 170 x 104 x 10 mm and weighs just 10.1 ounces / 286 g.

The fact that you can carry the little Fire HD 6 with you at all times, basically everywhere, anytime constitute one of the biggest attractions of this little model. Amazon is calling its latest spawn “pocketable,” and it is the first time we ever hear the retail giant speak in such terms.

It is also offered in a rainbow of fun, colorful options including the classic black, white, but also blue, magenta, yellow/green (or citron).

Amazon Fire HD 6 runs Sangria

The new tablet will take advantage of Amazon’s latest Sangria OS, which is a forked version of Android 4.4 KitKat. This operating system takes its design cues from the green robot, but it comes with a bunch of limitations.

For example, users won’t be able to access the Google Play Store and will only be granted permission for the Amazon Appstore and Amazon eBook, music, video services.

Surely, there are some positive aspects to using Sangria (or the Amazon OS in general), like the ability of downloading content from Amazon Prime Instant Video and play it later in offline mode.

The $99 / €77 model comes with 8GB of internal storage, but since you’re going to be treated with a low price, you get to “enjoy” some special offer ads on your home screen. Add $20 / €15 to remove those pesky ads. The 16GB version will cost you $119 / €92.
