Amanda Bynes in court after drug related arrest: she claims she was set up by “creepy” NYPD cops

Late last week, Amanda Bynes was arrested and then released on her own recognizance after being charged with pot possession, reckless endangerment, and tampering with evidence. Shortly after she got back home, she was on Twitter to address reports making the rounds online.

For starters, she says she doesn’t do drugs so cops found absolutely nothing to incriminate her in her Manhattan apartment.

Moreover, Bynes alleges that cops nearly broke into her apartment because she didn’t have the time to let them in: they knocked and entered immediately.

“Don't believe the reports about me being arrested. It's all lies. I was harassed by one of the cops the night before last which is who then arrested me. He lied and said I threw a bong out the window when I opened the window for fresh air. Hilarious,” Amanda writes.

She also alleges that the arresting officer made a very inappropriate gesture towards her.

“I then called the cops on him. He handcuffed me, which I resisted, quite unlike any of the reports stated. Then I was sent to a mental hospital. Offensive. I kept asking for my lawyer but they wouldn't let me. The cops were creepy,” she writes.

“They found no pot on me or bong outside my window. That's why the judge let me go. Don't believe any reports,” Amanda says.

In later tweets, she maintains she was wrongfully arrested, set up and harassed, adding that she’s talking to her attorney about her legal options next.

An investigation is now underway with the NYPD to determine if there’s any truth to her allegations.

Also on Twitter, in another post, Bynes explains that she’s cut her parents off because they were taking advantage of her and her money.

To paraphrase her, she’d rather have them homeless than living off the millions she made as an actress.
