Because of the many times she made headlines these past few months for allegations raging from weird behavior to DUI and hit and run, Amanda Bynes has been compared to Lindsay Lohan. It is pointless to do so because she really has no problem whatsoever.

After the more recent reports that she locked herself in a dressing room for 2 hours and that she’d gotten the habit of speaking to inanimate objects, Amanda is taking matters into her own hands.

She called up People magazine for a brief statement on her current state and, in doing so, she rubbished all reports to the contrary.

The bottom line is that there have been a lot of lies printed about Bynes in recent months. She’s never been anything but fine.

“I am doing amazing,” the star says over the phone, sounding, as per People, “polite, respectful and upbeat.”

I am retired as an actor. I am moving to New York to launch my career. I am going to do a fashion line,” the star says.

Earlier this week, word online had it that she was moving to NYC because her parents had intervened and decided it was a healthier place for her to be right now, thus removing her from the toxic surrounding she’d been living in.

“I am not talking about being arrested for DUI because I don't drink, and I don't drink and drive. It is all false,” she says.

At the same time, friends are telling People that, with this statement, Amanda is lying to herself. She refuses to accept the fact that she has a problem: and denying it won’t help her in any way.

“People around Amanda are really concerned about her. She tells people she doesn't party or drink. She doesn't realize she has a problem,” one such friend reveals.
