Amanda Bynes makes first public appearance since arrest and rehab, looks fabulous

Amanda Bynes went from great to awful in the space of just a few months, but she seems to be back in the saddle again. The other day, the former actress made her first public appearance since she was hospitalized against her will for a mental evaluation last summer and, as you can see for yourself, she looked very healthy and happy.

Some time ago, Bynes announced that she was retiring from acting altogether to focus on a career in fashion. She moved out of Los Angeles to New York, apparently against her parents’ advice, to work on her dream of being a fashion designer.

However, her life became a mess shortly afterwards, with troubling reports saying she was doing anything but designing. By the summer, Bynes was acting so erratically that, when she started a fire on a random woman’s driveway and nearly killed her own dog and set herself ablaze, she was put on a psychiatric hold for an evaluation before any charges were made against her.

She was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and was sent to rehab after she was out of the hospital.

Amanda is now under conservatorship, with her parents watching over her. She’s back living with them and they have also encouraged her to pursue her old dream, so she enlisted for classes at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. It was at one of the FIDM shows that Bynes made an appearance.

The photo above was posted to her Twitter, along with a few more, all of them focusing on fashion and revealing how excited Amanda was to be there.

Fans immediately noticed how healthy and happy she looked, and how that was such a welcome change from how she looked back in the day when she used to walk the streets of NYC smoking blunts, with her ratty hair extensions, her cheek piercings, awful makeup, and – even worse – muttering to herself all the time.

Bynes’ Twitter too doesn’t look the same as it did back then. The former actress has removed all her old tweets, some of them more embarrassing than others, and all the odd selfies she uploaded and seems that she will be focusing solely on her fashion endeavors from now on.

If we’re to believe reports online, during her brief stay in NYC, Amanda is said to have spent millions on drugs, parties, and dubious friends.

Now that she’s under conservatorship, she won’t be able to do that anymore, assuming that she falls back in the same lifestyle.
