Star urges fans on Twitter not to believe everything they read in the press

Since she moved to NYC to pursue a career as a fashion designer, Amanda Bynes has been in the headlines more than before, when she was living in LA, mostly because of rumors that she was having some sort of (rather public) meltdown. She’s addressing those reports again on Twitter.

As we also reported on countless previous occasions, Bynes has been plagued by rumors of alcohol and drug abuse, and erratic behavior for months now.

Many of them seemed to originate from family members or friends speaking to the tabs on the condition of anonymity.

That can’t be, Amanda is now saying in a new series of tweets, because she doesn’t have friends who dish out her secrets to the press and, most importantly, she’s no longer in touch with her family – her parents, in particular.

“I don't speak to my parents anymore, they don't talk to reporters on my behalf. Don't believe anything you read about me unless I tweet it,” she says.

“My friends don't speak on my behalf either. Please don't read anything about me needing help. That offends me. Follow me on twitter!” the former actress adds.

As for those who write about her feigning concern for her wellbeing, like gossip blogger Perez Hilton, Amanda would like them all to just back off – only put in slightly less delicate terms.

However, one should note, in Perez’s case, she seems equally upset by the fact that he’s using unflattering photos of her as she is by his lies.

“@perezhilton I'm so sick of u saying ur sincerely worried about me. At least pick a photo from my twitter if u won't stop talking about me,” she says.

“@perezhilton leave me alone! You are the scum of the earth!! Pick better photos [expletive]-er!,” Amanda writes.

And finally: “@perezhilton is ugly, has never had a hot boyfriend. He makes being gay look bad! No one wants to be a single parent bc no man wants them.”

As we also informed you yesterday, Amanda threatened – also on Twitter – to sue every blog and media outlet saying she had mental issues.
