Amanda Bynes’ parents were in court just hours ago, arguing their case in front of a judge after their daughter was put on a 5150 involuntary hold, pending mental evaluation, earlier this week. The picture they painted of the once beloved, now retired actress is deeply troubling.

Rick and Lynn Bynes want Amanda under a conservatorship, which would prevent her from making any personal or business decision on her own, without their consent.

The judge on the case has delayed making a decision either in their favor or against the filing until he gets a chance to talk to Amanda as well. She is still hospitalized, after the 72-hour involuntary hold was extended to 2 weeks.

However, TMZ has learned that her parents told the judge that she would die if they don’t step in and take control over her life.

Amanda’s life is so hectic that she literally blew $1.2 million (€903,886) in almost no time, and they have no idea what she spent it on. That’s approximately a quarter of the amount Amanda has in the bank.

Rick and Lynn believe that Amanda is buying drugs.

They also think that she’s pretty much homeless and not in a position of caring for herself, which includes an inability to buy clothes and food.

They argue that the recent incident, in which she set fire to her pants (and almost burned her dog) with a tank of gas in the middle of an elderly woman’s driveway, is proof that she’s a danger to herself and others.

Moreover, “Amanda has ‘profound issues with her body image’ and is ‘obsessed with the fact that she (and others) are ugly’,” TMZ writes, citing court proceedings.

They want to be granted temporary conservatorship over Amanda, which they believe is the only way they can “force” her to undergo treatment for her mental problems.
