DaimlerChrysler testing

DaimlerChrysler, one of the leading automobile manufacturers worldwide took some chances and declared they plan to be ready to release by 2012 the very first car powered by alternative fuel (hydrogen).

The statements might be based on true facts, since they are not supposed to fuel any marketing strategies, and since Shell Hydrogen also attended the conference announcing this innovation.

In order to boost the credibility of the announcement, the whole debate was made part of a fair dedicated to the hydrogen vehicle-propelling technologies held in Brussels.

Since DaimlerChrysler needs to mix pleasure with utility, the super-technology in question was tested in Japan, Germany, Singapore and in the United States on 60 A-class Mercedes cars, propelled by an energy-cell based technology.

The main advantage of using hydrogen as a fuel is the lack of any pollution; when used for propelling, the fuel relieves water and air. The passionate ecologists can now take a small holyday since next to the implementation of the new technology some positive impact on the environment should be noted soon.

However not all are enchanted by the perspective of shifting from the current, oil-based propelling systems, because after their fall several empires built upon the "black gold" are also expected to fall.

Specialists are still facing some problems with regard to an alleged earlier release of the hydrogen-based propeller systems.

One of their main obstacles is generating a quantity of hydrogen large enough to propel a car. Present ideas include integrating an energy source generating hydrogen - which makes switching from the current systems to alternative ones highly unprofitable given the cost- and pollution- related issues.
