14 DAY TRIAL // Glu Mobile announced the release of Alpha Wing 2, the highly-anticipated sequel to the mobile hit, Alpha Wing. Alpha Wing 2 features an engaging story, cutting edge sound and graphics, and fast-paced high-quality action gameplay. Developed internally at Glu Mobile, Alpha Wing 2 is also the company's first release with 3D graphics.
"Given the success and enormous fan base of Alpha Wing, we wanted to create a sequel that takes the gameplay and narrative to the next level", said Kristian Segerstrale, vice president of production, EMEA, Glu Mobile. "Alpha Wing 2 was designed from the ground up by our internal development studio at Glu. In the game, players take on the role of one of three brave intergalactic heroes, with one mission: to battle the advancing enemy and defeat the alien menace. Each of the three characters in the game has unique weapons, which can be upgraded by collecting the power-ups found throughout the nine levels of the game. And in a nod to classic shoot 'em up games like Ikaruga and Radiant Silvergun, Alpha Wing 2 also features a trio of imposing end of level bosses.

In a departure from other mobile games, Alpha Wing 2 blends both 3D and 2D graphics to create a game, which is both graphically rich and ideally suited to the performance constraints of mobile phones. For handsets that do not support 3D graphics, Glu has created a wholly 2D version.
