Alltel Wireless announced it has introduced a new mobile service, called Digby, that allows its users to easily shop while on the go from their BlackBerry handsets. "We believe Digby's high quality and easy-to-use solution offers Alltel customers the best mobile shopping experience available today."

Digby was released in January 2007, Alltel Wireless being the first mobile operator to launch the service. The Digby service powered by Alltel gives Blackberry users access to a full catalog of products belonging to various categories ranging from books, music and gifts to electronics and others. The service offers customers a friendly interface where they can browse thousands of products that can be found through an innovative product search feature. Users can easily view product information that includes full descriptions and images.

The Digby catalog is updated on a daily basis to keep content fresh and features bestsellers, the hottest music and special promotions for Alltel Wireless customers. Users can browse products from retailers such as Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, Drugstore.com, Godiva Chocolatier, FTD.com, Fossil, Quickgifts.com, Red Envelope, Vermont Teddy Bears, and wine.com; with new retailers and products to be added weekly.

"Our new relationship with Alltel Wireless to bring Digby Powered by Alltel to market is a key milestone in our company's development", said David Sikora, CEO of Digby. "We're looking forward to working closely with Alltel as they provide the most powerful mobile shopping experience to their customers."
