A Walmart store in Apopka, central Florida, has been the scene for an alligator sighting this weekend.

The video above shows the reptile crawling in front of the supermarket as police are gathered around it. Economic Times describes it as a six-foot (1.8-m) gator, who just showed up at the entrance.

The incident took place on early Sunday morning. The beast was noticed by shoppers who were inside the store at the time.

The entrance was closed off by staff and authorities were called in. They set up a perimeter and cleared the area in about an hour.

"He'll be put down, unfortunately. It looks like he has lost the fear of people, and we don't want to take the chance of him hurting anybody," describes Karen Parker, a spokeswoman for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
