The handset resembles a lot the Android-based Lenovo LePhone S2

When announcing the new Windows Phone 7.5 Mango operating system back in spring, Microsoft also unveiled that there will be a wider range of vendors coming up with handsets based on it, and Lenovo is one of these makers, it seems. Not only was the company's name mentioned in relation to Windows Phone before, but what appears to be their first handset to run under the mobile operating system has just made an appearance into the wild, further confirming such plans from the computer maker.

The handset that can be seen in the photos attached to this article supposedly runs Windows Phone, though it looks strikingly similar with the Lenovo LePhone S2 handset that should hit shelves with Android on board in the not too far future.

LePhone S2 will include a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 CPU, complemented by an 8MP camera on the back with HD video recording capabilities, and a display that can deliver a 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

In addition to featuring a similar design as that phone, the Windows Phone-powered device from the company could also sport the same internal circuitry.

As can be seen in the photos to the left, the upcoming Lenovo Windows Phone device might also sport a dedicated camera button, and could be packed with a front-facing camera as well.

Chances are that, the same as other smartphones from Lenovo, this Windows Phone Mango device would arrive on shelves on the Chinese market right from the start, which will make it one of the first such handsets to arrive in the country.

Nokia is another vendor expected to push Windows Phone devices to China, and should make an announcement on when that will happen sometime next year.

For the time being, however, nothing was officially confirmed on this Lenovo Windows Phone, and we'll have to wait for a formal announcement to be made to learn more on it.
