14 DAY TRIAL // Soon, HTC should make available for its devices a new version of the popular Sense user interface, one that will sport version 5.5, and that has already been spotted online a few times before.
In fact, some elements of the Sense 5.5 UI have been included in the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean build pushed to HTC One recently, though they are disabled in the framework, as Android Revolution HD notes.
Today, however, what appear to be the first screenshots depicting the upcoming user interface have leaked online, courtesy of the aforementioned website, meant to provide us with a glimpse at what HTC has in store for its users.
Sense 5.5 will arrive on smartphones with an enhanced Sense 5.0 feature, while also adding some new capabilities to the mix, it seems.
Apparently, as soon as this software release lands on devices, users will be able to enable and disable the BlinkFeed entirely, while also being able to re-arrange the content of the Android Quick Settings panel.
Furthermore, the user interface will be released to supported HTC Android smartphones out there with an improved keyboard, which will enable users to add more emoticons to the package.
The camera capabilities of HTC’s mobile phones will also be improved in the new release, courtesy of features such as "Dual capture" and "Panorama+." On top of that, Sense 5.5 is expected to bring along Storage and Recent Apps panels.
The software will also include new HTC BlinkFeed categories, along with a custom topics tab and a series of minor changes to the alarm clock.
Apparently these are only the visible changes that the upcoming UI will provide users with, as there will also be a series of under-the-hood upgrades.
Overall, devices that will sport the new Sense 5.5 on top will provide users with improved performance capabilities, complemented by a better overall UI smoothness. Not to mention the various bug fixes that HTC will also include inside the new software package.
