There are many sorts of audio solutions on the market, but for those that want utmost mobility and/or can't stand the sight of cables, only wireless headsets, among few other things, will do, like a certain new one from Aliph, among other things.

Entry level users can usually make do with any old set of speakers or headphones, as long as they do what their label says.

Likewise, the bulk of the consumer market, the so-called mainstream users, don't exactly go out of their way, or are willing to pay, for overly sophisticated or 'needlessly' (for them at least) optimized sound solutions.

Nevertheless, there are still consumers that have no problem with spending the extra dollar as long as their experience is enhanced, so to speak.

This led to designs focused on style and comfort, as well as the appearance of wireless speakers and headsets.

It is the latter type of electronic device that Aliph has just finished releasing, one whose name is the Jawbone Era.

One feature is that Jawbone Era utilizes two microprocessors, along with a 10mm wideband speaker.

As one will easily notice, it communicates to the PC or other audio playback device wirelessly, as long as the USB interface is present.

That said, the technology employed is Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, the operational range being of 10 meters.

Also, in order to ensure that the sound is rendered in high quality, Aliph implemented the proprietary Noise Assassin 3.0 noise cancellation technology.

Meanwhile, a built-in accelerometer allows motion controls (MotionX) and the necessary power is provided by a Li-ion polymer battery which can last for up to 5.5 hours (talk time) or 10 days (standby).

The full information can be found on the official website and those willing to pay $129.99 can get it starting on January 23, colored in one of four ways (Smokescreen, Silver Lining, Shadowbox and Midnight).
