Alienware Sentia m3450, Area 51 m5550 and Area 51 m5750

Alienware has just released three new Core Duo notebooks - Alienware Sentia m3450, which is, in fact, a development brought to the previous model M3400, Area 51 m5550 that substitutes the m5500, and the Area 51 m5750, which enhances the earlier m5700, informs Digital Trends.

Alienware Sentia m3450 can run up to 3.5 hours, because of an enhanced battery, not so impressive as a matter of fact, and weighs 5.5 pounds. The manufacturer didn't mention if the weight includes battery or not. If you opt for a trendy Bluetooth wireless connectivity, a Core Duo running up to 2.16 GHz, and a 7200 RPM 100 GB drive, you should expect to pay a lot of money.

The m3450 model includes a 14.1-inch widescreen with ClearView capability, 7.1 audio, graphics signed by Intel, built-in Wi-Fi and gigabit Ethernet connections, built-in Web cam, 3 USB 2.0 ports, one 4-pin IEEE 1394a port, and a 4-in-1 memory card reader.

As the Area 51 m5550 is an enhancement of the previous m5500, it features a 15.4-inch LCD screen with an optional resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels or 1920 x 1200 pixels and DVI and S-video capabilities. You will also have to choose between Nvidia's GeForce Go 7600 (with 256 MB of video memory) or ATI's Mobility Radeon x1400 (with 128 MB of video memory).

Furthermore, the m5550s model also includes a 4-in-1 memory card reader, 7200 RPM 100 GB hard drive, up to 2 GB of RAM, integrated Wi-Fi and gigabit Ethernet, three USB 2.0 ports, a 4-pin IEEE 1394a port, and an optional wireless Bluetooth connectivity.

The high end model - Area 51 m5750 - is the enhancement of the m5700, and, as you expected if you are accustomed with the previous version, it sports ATI Mobility Radeon x1400 or x1800 graphics controllers, and you can opt for 128 MB or 256 MB of video memory.

Furthermore, the m5750 features a 17-inch LCD screen which can deliver a resolution of 1440 x 900 pixels or 1920 x 1200 pixels, DVI and S-video output, single or dual hard drive configurations, up to 2 GB of memory, 4-in-1 memory card reader, built-in Wi-Fi and gigabit Ethernet, 4 USB 2.0 ports, a 4-pin IEE 1394a connector, and an optional Bluetooth.

The new Alienware models will be launched on the retail market on July 14, and the prices, depending on the chosen configuration, will start at $1,499.
