14 DAY TRIAL // At the end of May this year, singer Alicia Keys announced that she and music producer Swizz Beatz were not only expecting their first child together, but also engaged to be married. At the time, a rep for the singer only said that the ceremony would be held later this year, making no mention of the location or the period when it might take place. It was with good reason that the rep was so vague.
Alicia and Swizz Beatz were married over the weekend, in a very private ceremony held at a house with a view to the Mediterranean, People magazine informs. The couple did not make any announcement before the ceremony – nor after it was over, for that matter. Instead, the two only released a picture of them after they said their vows, kissing next to what looks like a huge pool with a view to die for.
“There was no yacht or over-the-top festivities – just family and close friends as Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz tied the knot in a private ceremony Saturday in a private home on the Mediterranean Sea. The bride wore a Grecian-inspired Vera Wang dress and carried a bouquet of purple calla lilies. The groom was decked out in a Tom Ford tuxedo. The couple’s friend Dr. Deepak Chopra presided over the nuptials. The couple, who are also expecting their first child together, have been together since fall 2008. They announced their engagement and baby news in May,” People magazine writes.
“It’s the first marriage for Keys, 29, and the couple’s first child together. While the newlyweds don’t know the gender of their baby, Beatz (real name: Kasseem Dean, 31) says the addition of a child will be nothing short of magical. ‘Whatever we’re blessed with, that baby is being born to blessed parents,’ he recently told People. ‘Alicia is definitely one of those great parents-to-be. She’s super ready. Super glowing. Super happy’,” the same media outlet further writes.
