Matt Dallas, Adam Brody, Rainn Wilson and Zachary Quinto have all been featured in amazing photospreads by photographer Tyler Shields, an artist known for his out-of-the-ordinary techniques and use of various styles blended together. Now it’s time for another up-and-coming star to appear in a Shields portrait: Alex Meraz, who will be seen next in “New Moon” as Paul of the Wolf Pack.

It’s not known when Shields took this portrait of Meraz (video and photo), but what is certain thus far is that he made it public at the specific request of “Twilight” fans. Watch the video below and you will see why. “Also thank you to the many fans who kept hitting me up on Twitter everyday Making sure I release these photos…. You can’t mess with the New Moon fans you guys are amazing beyond believe keep it up!” Shields writes on his official webpage, where the video and photo portrait was posted.

“Twilight” fans must know that one of the most anticipated parts about “New Moon” is seeing the Wolf Pack in action, meaning, as the pack members phase into wolves and then back to their human form. Because they are much bigger as animals and because their body temperature is way above that of the average human, the pack members often wear little else than a pair of cutoff jeans and shoes.

In the books, when they forget to remove their garments before phasing, they end up having to hide from other people when they return to their human form. What Shields tried to present with his portrait of Meraz was perhaps the warmth and rage that consumed all pack members before phasing into wolves, it is being said.

Speaking of warmth, a while back, the actor was telling the media that was the only thing missing on the Vancouver set when shooting for “New Moon,” as he was constantly shivering from cold while having to pretend he was actually hot. However, he also assured fans that the shapeshifting scenes would be something worth the wait, and not only because fans would get to see the actors’ ripped bodies, but also because of how they were shot and edited.

“It’s really cold in Vancouver and, you know, I have no shirt on. [And] sometimes, not [even] shoes! I think the real acting is coming in and trying to act like I’m warm. I filmed the transformation scene, which I’m gonna say right now… it’s something else. It’s going to be something to look forward to, for sure!” the actor was saying back in April.
