Actor denies he attacked NY Daily News photographer in the street

The other day, actor Alec Baldwin made headlines again after he apparently got into an altercation, shoved and punched a photographer for New York Daily News in the street. Below is his explanation of the incident.

As we also informed you, two paparazzi working for the paper told the press – and the cops afterwards – that Baldwin came out of the city Marriage License Bureau after taking his marriage license and launched at them without provocation.

They made it sound as if he didn't want to be seen there and, of course, photographed.

On CBS This Morning (video below, courtesy of TMZ), the actor notes that a picture can't tell the whole story and is certainly not worth a thousand words or, at least, it isn't in this particular case.

Baldwin doesn't deny shoving the paparazzo, but he says he only did it because he almost hit him with his camera in the face.

Moreover, the photograph had “baited” him before, camping outside his home and hounding him whenever he got the chance, so Alec imagines he was out to provoke him.

“The guy lunged and almost hit me in the teeth with the lens of the camera. So I just pushed the guy away,” Baldwin says of the damning photo that you can also see attached to this article.

Though he'd probably do a lot of damage to the paps if he knew he wouldn't be punished for it, Alec admits he would never be “that dumb” to simply go clocking them in the street.

“People think I'm out there just decking photographers willy-nilly, nothing could be further from the truth. I'm dumb but I'm not that dumb!” he explained.

On Twitter, Baldwin is just as vocal against the paps, revealing that the situation has really gotten out of control ever since the incident made it in the press.

“15-20 cameramen outside my bldg this am, chasing me on my bike. They're knocking into ppl on the street, yelling 'Will you seek help, Alec?'” he wrote.

Below is Alec's explanation of the incident. It's true that he has a highly volatile temper but, at the same time, it's also true that there's more than just one side to every story – meaning the paparazzo is probably not telling it like it was.
