Alec Baldwin got himself into a lot of trouble a few days ago after apparently using Twitter to make nasty homophobic comments about a journalist who claimed his wife Hilaria had live-tweeted James Gandolfini’s funeral.
After the rant, Baldwin shut his Twitter page down and, he tells Vanity Fair in a new interview, he has no intention of ever bringing it back up online.
Moreover, he’s considering retiring from acting, he reveals.
“I’m having a baby. And everyone has seen how certain things have played out with my daughter, which has been very painful—it’s been really unpleasant. That has consequences, and I do not want that to happen with my next child,” he says.
Alec dreams of the day when his daughter grows up and knows nothing of him as a public person. That would be great, he says.
So, back to the question at hand... Would he quit acting?
“I’d love to if I could, yeah. That would be the greatest thing in the world,” Baldwin says.
In other words, this isn’t going to happen anytime soon.
