Paparazzo harassed, provoked him, says report; no charges were filed

Alec Baldwin has a highly flammable temper in general and a very short fuse when it comes to the paparazzi, which explains why he’s already been involved in a series of altercations with them. The other day, he got into a street fight with a photog in NYC.

TMZ reports that Baldwin was walking with his wife, Hilaria Thomas, who gave birth to their first child on August 23, when photographers swarmed them, as it usually happens whenever they step outside.

After a while, he singled out just one and went after him.

Initially, the paparazzo claimed that he did nothing wrong, the aforementioned media outlet says. He called the police right after he managed to get out of Baldwin’s hands.

“All I can say is I was doing my job asking him normal questions and he flipped. That's all,” says the paparazzo.

However, eyewitnesses say, he must have said something to set Baldwin off, something that was more than a “normal” question.

While the two men were fighting, Hilaria sought refuge in a nearby shop. Baldwin also called the cops.

“What kind of sick twisted psychopath chases a woman who just got out of the hospital from having a baby into a tea store?” an eyewitness says for TMZ.

When police arrived on the scene, both men admitted to being violent.

“A rep for the NYPD tells us cops have spoken with both the photog and Alec who each admit pushing and shoving each other. We're told both parties ultimately decided to walk away from the situation without pursuing charges,” writes the publication.

As noted above, this isn’t the first time that Baldwin gets into a scuffle with the paparazzi who, he believes, often take too many liberties with their “freedom of the press” right.
