A previous model was launched in December which proved to be quite successful

Remember the Aldi Medion LifeTab E7316 tablet? The supermarket chain launched the budget slate back in December, in an attempt to tap into the success budget devices like the Tesco Hudl, have been experiencing.

The device was priced with only £79.99 / $131 / €96 and apparently the first batch sold out in just two days. So Aldi doesn't plan to stop here, when tablets are concerned.

This time it’s aiming to bring customers a tablet with a bigger screen (the E7316 was a 7-incher) in the form of the 10-inch Medion LifeTab MD98516.

The tablet will go on sale February 26 and will sell for €179 / $246. Since this is a budget slate, you won’t find anything here to exciting. Yes, there’s a larger 10-inch screen but the resolution won’t jump beyond the average 1280 x 800 pixels.

However, on the inside there’s a pretty decent quad-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz combined with 1GB of RAM and backed up by 16GB of internal storage to keep things going.

The standard set of specifications is also provided, including microUSB, microHDMI, dual cameras and microSD card.

The battery should last users up to 6 hours and the default operating system is Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. I’m pretty curious to see the 10-inch Medion will have the same successor as the 7-incher, but that remains to be seen.
