Tesco might be selling lot of its Hudl budget tablets, but some competition is scheduled to arrive soon, curtsey of German supermarket chain Aldi.

Customers looking to purchase a budget slate, mark the December 8 date in your calendar, as Aldi is unleashing the Medion LifeTab E7316 tablet into the world.

The slate is going to be priced at £79.99 / $131 / €96 , thus being a little less expensive than the Hudl slate. Aldi boasts it has added a razor sharp multi-touch display with a resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels that offers the best experience ever.

Running apps on this tablet should be no problem, because deep in its entrails there’s a high performance 1.6GHz quad-processor coupled with 1GB of RAM powering everything. The slate runs Android 4.2.2 so users have access to the entire plethora of apps in the Google Play Store.

Aldi has equipped the Medion with two cameras (0.3MP frontal webcam and 2MP on the back). Other functionalities include USB, Wi-Fi LAN IEEE 802.11 and Bluetooth 2.1.

Stocks appear to be limited, so if you want one, you better show up for shopping at Aldi early on Sunday, because at this price the Medion won't last long.
