48-year-old Sheila Sillery-Walsh claims to have snapped a photo of a ghost that is haunting the island of Alcatraz with the help of her trusty iPhone, and has even agreed to share the image with us, ordinary folks, to prove that she is telling the truth.

The photo in question is available above, and it allegedly shows the ghost of a woman who, judging by her hair and clothing, must have passed away several decades ago.

Seeing how pale this ghost appears to be, chances are that the woman was not a big fan of sunbathing while she still had a pulse. Then again, maybe the ghost merely tried to make herself pretty for the camera and used too much powder.

Talking to the press, Sheila Sillery-Walsh explained that, before visiting the island of Alcatraz in the San Francisco Bay and returning home with this photo, she did not believe that ghosts existed.

However, now that she captured one on camera, the 48-year-old woman is quite convinced that the kicking of the bucket is not the end, and that it is possible that some folks stick around even after having met the Grim Reaper.

“I have no logical explanation for the girl in the picture – I'm baffled by her! It's funny because she's staring right at the camera, with a knowing look,” Sheila Sillery-Walsh has told the press in a recent interview.

“I was really skeptical about ghosts before but I'm a bit more of a believer now. I do think that the woman in the photo is a ghost,” the 48-year-old woman goes on to explain, as cited by Huffington Post.

For those unaware, Alcatraz served as a federal prison between the years 1934 and 1963, and the criminals who were sent here were some of the worst the United States has ever seen. Nowadays, the island is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.

By the looks of it, Sheila Sillery-Walsh photographed the ghost while trying to snap a picture of an empty visitation block window. The woman says the ghost disappeared in just a few moments, and that she has no idea where it might have gone.

“While doing an audio-tour of the place, I casually stopped to take a snap of the empty visitation block window on my iPhone. When I glanced at the photo on my mobile, I saw this dark female figure in the picture. I looked at the window again and there was no one in the room,” she recollects.
