14 DAY TRIAL // MWC 2015 has started at full blast with HTC unveiling its One M9 flagship smartphone and a bunch of other products, including a fitness band and a VR headset initiative.
But smaller tech manufacturers are also out to impress us during the event. It’s the case of Alcatel, who came prepared at Barcelona to show off a bunch of premium smartphones.

Looking at the promotional image for the OneTouch IDOL 3, you’ll probably get an undisputed deja-vu. As it's plainly clear, the company hopes and dreams to take on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus with its latest phone duo.
Introducing the 4.7-inch IDOL 3 and 5.5-inch IDOL 3 - a duo of handsets that come with an atypical feature (as seen at GSM Arena).
As the company says, the two phones are the industry’s first reversible handsets. This means that if you end up picking up the device on the opposite end, its interface will automatically flip.
It’s certainly something that we have all been confronted with, but we wouldn’t necessarily call it an inconvenience. Nevertheless, Alcatel hopes this novel feature will bring some curios customers on board.
The two models take advantage of Tehnicolor Color Enhance technology, which basically means they should be able to provide advanced color rendering and enhanced visibility.
As for internal specifications, the 4.7-inch model offers a 720p resolution display plus a quad-core CPU (we’re not told exactly which, but possibly a Snapdragon 610). The larger one arrives with a 1080p screen and packs a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615.
Both models have LTE, a 13MP back camera with large aperture for low light shooting and a secondary snapper with wide 84-degree angle for selfies and Fast Face Focus.
The company hasn’t yet announced pricing and availability dates for the two models.
