According to Digitimes.com, Albatron Technology recently unveiled its Intel 945P-based SLI-supporting motherboard (PX945P) for dual-core CPU and dual-graphics card solutions, with the company stating the product is scheduled to begin shipping in October.

The PX945P features support for all Nvidia SLI-ready graphics cards for its dual graphics card solution and the motherboard supports up to 10.7GB of dual-channel DDR2-667 memory. The motherboard?s ICH7 southbridge supports four SATA2 ports, delivering transmission speeds up to 300MB per second.

The two graphics card slots are comprised of one x16 PCI Express (PCIe) slot and one x4 PCIe slot, according to the company. When enabling SLI in the PX945P, it will run at x4+x4, as one signal comes from the northbridge and another from the southbridge, the company added.

Pricing for the PX945P has not yet been fixed.

Throughout the nineties, Albatron produced high-end plasma displays, multimedia TVs and monitors, and rear projection display systems for corporate presentations and video conferencing. The start of 2002 saw the launch of a whole new range of products from their newly formed IT products division.
