14 DAY TRIAL // He’s known for how fiercely protective he is of his personal life but, last night’s at the Tony Awards 2011, Al Pacino was all smiles as he worked the red carpet with his gorgeous girlfriend Lucila Sola.
The Daily Mail has photos of the happy couple on the red carpet, as they arrived for the awards gala. In true “a picture is worth a thousand words” fashion, they hardly need any commentary.
Still, the British tab provides, especially since reports later last year had it that Al and Lucila had put an end to their romance, presumably because of the age difference: he’s 71 and she’s exactly 40 years his junior.
Their most recent public appearance comes to infirm those rumors and to prove that, if anything, the two are very happy together.
“It’s obvious why Al Pacino is smiling so broadly. At the Godfather star’s side as he arrived for the Tony Awards in New York was his stunning Argentinean girlfriend Lucila Sola, who at 31 is 40 years his junior,” the British tab writes.
“Dressed in a lilac gown, the brunette held on tightly to 71-year-old Pacino’s hand. Perhaps she has inspired him to indulge his youthful side – Pacino sported a black headband holding back his age-defying dark hair,” the Mail adds.
The two met when he directed her in “Wild Salome,” based on Oscar Wilde’s famously banned play “Salome.”
They first went public with the romance in the spring of 2010 but, towards the end of the year, reports already had it that they had broken up.
Clearly, their public appearance at the Tonys leaves no room for doubt as to the state of their relationship.
Speaking of the Tonys, we were telling you earlier today that one of the highlights of the evening was when Hugh Jackman showed up on stage and tried to prove to host Neil Patrick Harris that he was, in fact, a much better host.
