The Nintendo DS might have had a recent slowdown in sales, especially in Japan, but the way it combines accessibility with a unique control scheme based on the touchscreen makes the Nintendo handheld one of the top choices when it comes to creating fun and easy-to-play games that can attract a wide array of players.

Air Traffic Chaos is exactly one such game, coming from the publisher Majesco, already renowned for the casual hits like Cooking Mama or Zoo Hospital, is aiming to put the player in the role of an air traffic controller tasked with managing the flight schedule at one busy airport.

The stylus and the touchscreen will be used to manage takeoffs and landings, to assign gates for various flights and to schedule maintenance. The other screen on the Nintendo DS will offer at-a-glance view of the incoming traffic and of the overall situation of the airport you're managing.

The player will have to make slip second decisions, sometimes canceling the flights if the weather is bad enough and stranding hundreds of people in the airport. Majesco has not yet revealed if it plans to follow up the game with a game called Delayed Chaoes Manager, that's designed to let the player take care of those fun and lengthy delay periods.

14 different airlines will be in the game as there will be various weather conditions. There's no word yet on the number of airports simulated and whether they'll be likenesses of actual airports or designs created by the developers. The game will offer support for the Nintendo DS Rumble Pak and will allow players to share their high scores with up to seven friends through the Wi-Fi connection.

Gui Karyo, who is Executive Vice President of Operations at Majesco, declared that: "Air Traffic Chaos means fun is taking off from Terminal A. The game's frantic pace set against the backdrop of an already high-stress job will challenge fast-fingered touch screen gamers in an entirely new way."
