This might come as a shock to some people (myself included), yet it appears that fermented cow dung can successfully be used to manufacture air freshener.

As the Indonesian students who made this discovery explain, all one needs to do is extract the water from the manure, pour in some coconut water and then proceed to distilling the resulting concoction.

According to Tree Hugger, this cow dung-based air freshener is both environmentally and people friendly.

Long story short, there are absolutely no chances that harmful chemical compounds will be released into the atmosphere whenever the air freshener is used, and bad reactions to breathing in what used to be cow manure are likely to be few and far in between.

Not to mention the fact that it costs about half the price of similar products currently available on the market.

Thanks to their rolling out this eco-friendly air fresheners, Dwi Nailul Izzah and Rintya Aprianti Miki won a gold medal in this year's Science Project Olympiad in Indonesia.

The students are now looking into the possibility of filing a patent for their creation.
