14 DAY TRIAL // Video game developer Triumph Studios is announcing that it is working on a new expansion for Age of Wonders III, called Eternal Lords, which is set to be launched on April 14 of this year on the PC and can be picked up by fans for 19.99 dollars or Euro.
The first major addition coming to the strategy title is a new player class, the Necromancer, who is able to create a range of undead units that subvert some of the traditional mechanics of the title.
The Bone Collector can eat corpses to become more powerful and the Banshee is designed to generate despair in the souls of all living units.
Eternal Lords for Age of Wonders III also introduces the Keeper, Grey Guard and Shadow Born specializations, which "deepen the alignment mechanics and provide players of all classes powers to withstand the challenges of the new age. Learn spells to summon mighty Angels, end game units who embody the essence of each alignment."
The two new races that gamers can choose from are the Frostlings, humanoids from the north that are focused on sea action, frost magic and an attacking style of warfare, and the Tigran, a desert-based feline people who create massive tombs, move fast on the battlefield and can shapeshift into dire panthers.
Age of Wonders III will introduce a new campaign and other tweaks
The development team says that Eternal Lords comes with a story that casts players as Arvik, the heir of a Frostling kingdom, who needs to use necromancy to reclaim his lands and become engaged in a larger conflict which will throw the forces of life and fire against those of death and ice.
The strategy experience will also get random events which can alter the course of a campaign, and relations will now be tracked based on race, which means gamers will need to be careful about their peace and war decisions.
Age of Wonders III is also getting new map locations to explore, including Reef Colony Dwelling, Lich’s Castle, Temple of the Sands and the Hall of the Forefathers.
Gamers can also use new hero items and the game is also getting a new Player by Email Multiplayer mode, in addition to new scenarios and more ways to use the random map generator.
