Two CDs and lots of orchestral music will turn your room into Hyboria

It is no longer a surprise for high quality game releases to offer their soundtracks, posters, covers and soul for money. Any extra bit of cash is welcome - and that's exactly the same thing Funcom, Age of Conan's parents, seem to believe, since they have announced the release of the soundtrack for their game. What makes them even better at cash milking is the fact that we'll get two CDs of the soundtrack. So why pay for one when you can do so for two?

The first CD will feature all the orchestral music from the game, so if you are a fan of such music or already a diehard Age of Conan supporter, you will find it a must have. But you won't even get all the tracks from the game - only the so-called "best of the best" will be made available, as selected by composer Knut Avenstroup Haugen.

"It has been a great honor to create the score for Age of Conan. To provide musical content for a universe that is so vast, so varied and so rich has been a huge undertaking, but an experience that never ceased to be immensely enjoyable," said Knut Avenstroup Haugen, producer and composer on the Age of Conan soundtrack.

The second CD, dubbed "added treat", will be released later this month and will include even more orchestral songs, plus three from legendary and iconic Norwegian band Turbonegro. A band so cool that, after the release of the game, went straight to the studio and following some excessive creative efforts (and probably some button smashing) recorded a brand new ode to Hyboria, called "Destroy All Monsters". Sorry for laughing, but it reminds us of the parody called "Destroy all Humans". The rockers probably know better what they should do or not.

In the end, it's up to you to decide whether the two Age of Conan soundtrack CDs deserve your money or not.
