Even though people got fired

Age of Conan is a pretty popular MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game), having sold a million copies in just three weeks after its launch. It won over fans with its clever and user friendly interface, which offered support for any type of player, from the hardcore to the casual one. It made quite a lot of money for its developer, FunCom, which really needed it, because it was in financial trouble.

But all of these profits, resulted from the sales of the game and the monthly subscriptions, didn't move FunCom out of the trouble area, as the company announced a few days ago that, for "efficiency," it had fired quite a lot of its employees from its US branch. This action got a pretty big number of fans worried that the Xbox 360 version of Age of Conan wouldn't be made, as many of those who got fired were working on this project.

Erling Ellingsen, the product manager for FunCom, recently talked with MTV Multiplayer about this situation. He went on to assure fans that an Xbox 360 port of the popular MMORPG was still on track, and that they had nothing to worry about. He said that, although some of the people who were fired were working on that project, the game would appear.

"Our aim is for these layoffs to not affect development of 'Age of Conan,' or any of our other games, at all. We are sticking firmly to our plans. The Xbox 360 version of the game is still in production, but as before we are not committing to any specific dates. I wish I could give you more information, but I can't at the time being," said Ellingsen.

All in all, some pretty interesting statements, which are sure to make a lot of console owners very happy, as they will get their hands on this popular MMORPG. Let's just hope that FunCom will release it as soon as possible, and that all of the Xbox 360 players will get a taste of this game.
