The MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) market is a huge one, with a large number of players delving every day into a mythical adventure against different types of monsters with individual goals.

World of Warcraft currently dominates the market with over 11 million subscribers, a number that will surely go up with the recent launch of the second expansion of the game, Wrath of the Lich King. But other games are making quite a considerable dent in the user base of WoW, with titles such as Warhammer Online or Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, which attract a lot of players.

Recently, Funcom, the developer of Age of Conan, has just announced that it has implemented a massive update for the game, one that brings new territories and quests for players who wanted a more high-end gameplay experience. Ever since its launch, this game has attracted a lot of casual players with its user friendly interface and simple quests, but more hardcore players complained that the game didn't offer much of a challenge after your character progressed to the last level.

Now, in an effort to please these users, this update will reveal a new outdoor area, called Ymir’s Pass, which will give players new quests and challenges, as well as a new dungeon, The Amphitheater, which will offer a large number of monsters that players can battle with.

"This is an important update that opens up a lot of new gameplay content for players who have already passed the level fifty mark," says Game Director Craig Morrison. "In the months ahead we will introduce even more new content, and coming up soon are two exciting new high-level dungeons intended for players who have reached the maximum level. At this stage adding more content and keeping people entertained is very important to us!"

So it definitely looks like Funcom is doing everything it can to ensure that players won't go back to other games, especially World of Warcraft, which offers a bigger number of quests and epic battles. Let's just hope that this new update will give hardcore players a more exciting experience.
