Due to some "more polishing" needed, the MMO will be released in May

It's not some great news for those who are expecting to get their hands on Age of Conan as soon as possible: Funcom have delayed this highly anticipated title again, because it needs some "more polishing". Of course this is a tough decision to be made and a real pain for those who hoped to play it sooner, but it's probably for our own good: we'll get a better MMO in the end. And the wait isn't that long, either, since we're talking about 2 months, since the new release date is the 20th of May.

The developers state that they have received a great feedback regarding the vital factors of the game, such as fun or the combat system, but they still think things can be done a little better. And until all these last-minute details (we don't know exactly which) are polished, you could go and try to order the Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventure Collectors Edition for some really rare items, just to start it strong.

"The companies standing apart in the gaming market today are those with a relentless drive to achieve quality. Even though we regret delaying the launch, I am certain we made the right choice. I hope that our followers and fans will support our decision, and respect our commitment to quality," said Gaute Godager, Producer and Game Director of Age of Conan

The to-be-released MMORPG has already received 20 magazine covers and 15 industry awards so you can understand that this is a really, really promising title. The prior delay was due to changes to the game system, which made this title improve the experience for newcomers and introduce a more involving and accessible character progression throughout the game. Press and beta feedback in the aftermath of these changes has been very positive, so Age of Conan hopes to receive the same feedback after these 8 more weeks of waiting.

The beta tests will continue in North America and Europe and the game can already be pre-ordered (as well as the Collectors Edition). Even though there are already thousands of players beta testing this game, anybody interested can still sign up as a tester and hope to be picked up on board for a great, polished experience.
