Quite an interesting concept

Most game reviewers and game reporters only write about the games they play and the titles they are interested in are mainly determined by their biological age. It is kinda hard to write about games for small children or about titles suited for those over the age of 50 when you only have the experience of your age group. Fortunately, at GamePeople, Paul Govan has written about which are the best videogames of 2008 when taking into account the age of the player.

The nominees for the Infants category, which includes children aged 2 to 4, are: Family Ski Wii, Quickspot DS, Pac 'n Roll DS and Dora the Explorer: Dora Saves the Snow Princess Wii, with the winner being Family Ski for the Nintendo Wii.

In the Juniors category, including players aged 5 to 10, games like Boom Blox Wii, Soul Bubbles DS and Guinness World Records Wii were nominated with Mario and Sonic at the Olympics for the Wii taking home the award.

The Students category saw nominations given out for Rock Band for the Xbox 360, Castle Crashers, which is available on the Xbox Live Arcade, and Motor Storm: Pacific Rift for the PlayStation 3. For gamers between 11 and 16, the title that received the award was Super Smash Brothers Brawl.

The Workers category of games is aimed at those 17 and older that have some gaming experience and the winner was Mirror's Edge for the PS3, while Sing Star took home the award for the Parents category, including mature gamers who need a title that could help them escape the tedium of work and home duties.

For Seniors, those gamers who are slower and need a more engaging gaming experience, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue was judged to be the most suitable title.

With the winners for 2008 announced, the nominations for the 2009 awards are now open. Head over to GamePeople to suggest a game.
