Indian OEM Xolo is on fire, as the company introduced no less than three Android smartphones earlier today, the XOLO 8X-1000, XOLO Play 8X-1200 and XOLO A1000s.

We have already reported on the first two, which are aimed at the mid- to high-range segments of the market, so now let’s take a look at what the A1000s has to offer in terms of hardware and software configuration.

First of all, it’s worth mentioning that the XOLO A1000s has just been listed on the Indian company’s website, but it will probably go on sale beginning next week.

Potential customers might want to know that the budget-friendly smartphone will be available for purchase in India for just Rs 7,799 outright, which is about $125 or €95. Keep in mind though that there’s a chance that the handset will be priced slightly cheaper at third-party retailers in order to boost sales.

Moving on to specs, everything about XOLO A1000s can be reduced to the word “dual.” The phone is powered by a dual-core processor, it offers dual-SIM capability and it features dual speakers and dual-LED flash.

According to Xolo, the A1000s will ship with the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system out of the box when it gets released on the market. This is one of the phone’s biggest advantages over other handsets in the same price range.

As mentioned earlier, XOLO A1000s is equipped with a 1GHz dual-core MediaTek MTK6572M processor, which is complemented by a Mali 400 MP graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

Even though the smartphone has been confirmed to pack only 4GB of storage, users will be able to make use of XOLO A1000s’ microSD card slot to further expand the internal memory up to 32GB.

XOLO A1000s sports a 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 854 pixels resolution. On the back, the phone features a 5-megapixel photo snapper with fixed focus, dual-LED flash and video recording. There’s also a secondary VGA camera for video calls on the front.

Connectivity-wise, XOLO’s affordable smartphone offers plenty of options, including 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS with A-GPS, FM Radio, 3.5mm audio jack and microUSB.

Last but not least, XOLO A1000s is powered by a 2000 mAh battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 650 hours of standby time or up 29 hours of talk time (up to 13 hours in 3G mode). We will keep an eye out for any news on A1000s’ availability in India, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
