Indian OEM Celkon has just announced the upcoming availability of the “cutest Android smartphone” on the planet, the Campus Mini A350.

The smartphone has yet to be listed on Celkon’s website, but the company promised that the Campus Mini A350 would soon go on sale in India for only Rs 3,799 outright, which is about $62 or €47.

Judging by its low price, Android fans shouldn’t expect any impressive features to be included in the Campus Mini A350. Still, Celkon’s budget-friendly handset has its own target and that’s customers who never owned a smartphone before.

There’s no reason to upgrade from another Android smartphone to the Celkon Campus Mini except if you want a newer version of Android on your device.

Yep, Celkon Campus Mini ships with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system out of the box, which along with the low price, is among the phone’s selling points.

Celkon has a quite decent lineup of affordable smartphones powered by Android 4.4 KitKat in its portfolio, and by the look of things this lineup will grow larger each month.

For those who don’t remember, Celkon also launched a Campus smartphone earlier this year, which has slightly better specs, so it would be fair to say that the new device is the mini version of the former.

Potential customers considering the Celkon Mini Campus A350 as their first smartphone may want to know a few things about the device before making their investment.

First of all, the Mini Campus sports a rather small 3.5-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen display that supports 320 x 480 pixels resolution. In addition, the smartphone comes with a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features LED flash and video recording, as well as a secondary VGA camera for video calls.

Speaking of which, Celkon’s budget-friendly smartphone offers dual-SIM capability, along with 3G connectivity for fast Internet browsing.

On the inside, the handset is equipped with a decent 1.3GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6572M processor, which is complemented by only 256MB of RAM. This is the only downside of the Celkon Campus Mini, as many apps and games in the Google Play Store will not work on this device due to low amount of RAM.

According to NDTV Gadgets, the Campus Mini has also been confirmed to pack 512MB of storage, and while there’s no word on microSD card slot, we can safely assume that the smartphone will definitely allow users to expand internal memory to a certain amount.
