Modular and 80Plus certified, these two are the attributes that have come to define what is generally seen as a high-end or high-quality power supply. In fact, on the gaming and enthusiast markets, modular PSUs are preferred because they facilitate cable routing and, thus, improve cooling efficiency. Aerocool Advanced Technologies decided it was time to offer these end-users something to, if not use, at least gawk at, namely the V12XT series.

Basically, the new PSUs are designed in such a way so as to be able to fuel their buyers' PCs without debilitating the power bill overmuch and still offer some aesthetic value. Four in number, they are all compliant with the ATX 12V 2.3 and EPS 12v 2.92 specifications. Additionally, they have a Carbon Fiber coating and Active Power Factor Correction (Active PFC) (PF>0.99).

There are a number of features that make the units appealing. For one, they have an efficiency of up to 85%, which earned each of them the 80Plus Bronze rating. Secondly, their MTBF is of 120,000 hours. Other assets include sleeved cables, between two and six 12V rails, depending on model, and LED connectors, colored either red or blue. Furthermore, each unit boasts a 139mm quad-blue LED fan tasked with making sure that the products don't suffer an untimely death as a consequence of overheating.

Aerocool's V12XT PSUs can provide 600W, 700W, 800W and 1000W of power, respectively, and have already started showing up in stores around Europe. They cost €99.90, €119.90, €139.90, and €195.90, respectively. There is no mention, as of yet, of when, if ever, the company intends to expand availability to other regions. In the meantime, wallet-happy customers and any interested consumers may visit the official product page on the company's website for full information on any of the four newcomers.
