AeroScout, a provider of Wi-Fi based Active RFID solutions, announced the launch of the AeroScout T3 Tag, the most advanced tag for asset and people tracking.

AeroScout's Wi-Fi-based Active RFID Tags are small, battery-powered wireless devices that can accurately locate and track any asset or person. AeroScout Tags utilize standard Wi-Fi networks to track high-value assets and people in real time, in any environment - from tight indoor locations such as hospitals and manufacturing floors to open outdoor locations such as parking lots and shipping yards.

AeroScout created the industry's first Wi-Fi tags in 2003. The T2 Tag is the most widely-deployed Wi-Fi tag, and the T3 Tag provides new advanced features in a sleek, low-profile form. The AeroScout T3 Tag combines a streamlined flat form factor with long battery life, two call buttons, motion and temperature detection, and tamper-proofing. The T3 Tag is ideal for use as a personnel badge, for IT asset tracking, and a variety of other advanced uses.

"Our customers identified a real need for a low-profile tag that could track assets efficiently and discreetly, especially in healthcare, manufacturing and IT asset tracking," said Gabi Daniely, vice president of marketing and product strategy at AeroScout. "Our challenge was to develop a compact tag with an advanced feature set, without sacrificing the high performance that has made our T2 tags so successful. We feel confident that with the T3 and T2 tags, AeroScout solutions can meet the broadest set of customer needs."

AeroScout develops complete Active RFID solutions for a range of industries, and has provided thousands of tags to customers in healthcare, manufacturing, logistics and other environments. For example, within the healthcare industry, AeroScout solutions improve patient care by locating high-value medical equipment as well as patients, and triggering alerts based on movement or status. Likewise, manufacturers utilize AeroScout solutions to improve throughput by tracking work-in-process inventory items such as aircraft parts.
