It acts as a USB fan controller and audio jack holder as well

AeroCool decided to put a spin on the concept of fan controller, so it turned the Strike-X X-1000 into something more.

Put simply, it is a replacement for the front I/O panel, or it would be if there were any way to remove that element from desktop cases.

The five fan control channels make up the bulk of the product, true, but AeroCool was able to cram there a couple of USB 2.0 ports and the two standard audio jacks (headphones/speakers and microphone).

X-1000 can manage the fans of CPUs, graphics cards, the desktop case itself, etc., and can produce 25W of power over each channel.

If you like these things, and don't mind the red X and markings on the front, you'll be able to get the AeroCool Strike-X X-1000 in October (2012). The price isn't known, unfortunately.
