As technology continues to develop, higher-capacity portable storage solutions are being released on the market. Currently, users can hold up to 64GB of data on a single, small-sized USB Flash Drive. However, there are a couple of users out there who are looking for higher storage solutions that are ultra-portable and efficient. That is where the new larger-capacity 1.8-inch Pocket Drive from Apricorn comes into play. According to the company, the new portable storage solution can provide users with as much as 240GB of storage space, offering a significant boost over its predecessor.

Apricorn's Aegis Mini is currently the largest-capacity 1.8-inch external drive available on the market. It uses a traditional hard-disk solution with a 1.8-inch form factor to deliver the high 240GB storage space. Thanks to the specifications of the hard drive, the Aegis Mini can provide its users with as much as 240GB of storage in a slim and ultra-portable form factor that will easily fit your pocket. In addition, unlike most Flash-based USB sticks, the Aegis Mini external drive can be offered with either a USB 2.0 or FireWire connectivity option.

According to the company, the Aegis Mini weighs about 105 grams, making it easy to carry around. In addition, Apricorn has designed the storage solution around a 16-point omni-directional shock-mounted 1.8-inch hard drive, a design feature that will protect the drive from various accidents throughout its existence. The small form factor enables it to be low on power consumption and easily connect to a PC through a USB or FireWire cable.

Users in the U.S and Canada will be able to order their Aegis Mini through the company website. Price-wise, the 240GB USB 2.0 version is listed at $269, while for the FireWire version you will have to pay $10 more.
