It seems that history decided to repeat itself, as a certain budget tablet managed to finally become available for purchase again only to sell out within hours. Again.

Companies and consumers alike may be having trouble eliminating the last of their skepticism when it comes to tablets.

Of course, promising results for those models that are already on sale aren't expected to make all worries go away instantly, but the so-called marketing performance of the Advent Vega probably helps. A lot.

End-users may remember that, a few weeks ago, the Advent Vega budget slate became available only to sell out in a few hours.

Apparently, the exact same thing has happened to the exact same product, only this time sales might have actually exhausted supply even quicker.

As this page on PC World clearly shows, Advent's slate is not available anymore. Again.

For those in need of a reminder, the Vega is a 10.1-inch model powered by the NVIDIA Tegra 2 SoC (system-on-chip).

The display itself has a native resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels, while a microSD card slot allows one to add a hefty amount of Flash storage to supplement the built-in 512 MB.

There is also Bluetooth 2.1, HDMI, 802.11 b/g WiFi and a 2-cell battery that keeps everything running, all packed inside a frame of 275 x 178 x 13.6 mm.

No doubt the price of £249, equivalent of roughly $389, greatly contributed to the high appeal that Advent Vega obviously benefits from.

Unfortunately, there is no way of knowing, for now at least, when sales will resume once more and if it will be in time for Christmas.

When they do, however, it is implied that purchasers will be able to also acquire an official case, the first accessory designed for the Vega so far. Nothing else is known about it yet.
