The teeny tiny creature is just 40-day-old

The Taronga Wildlife Hospital in Australia is now home to a 40-day-old echidna puggle, which is no bigger than the palm of one's hand and annoyingly cute.

No, really, have a look at the photo to see just how cute the baby echidna is.

The people who are in charge of looking after its wellbeing explain that, because puggles stay hidden in their burrows throughout the first months of their lives, most people really don't know anything about their existence.

However, this little fellow that is now looked after at Australia's Taronga Wildlife Hospital somehow ended up in an RV park, and had to be taken to this wildlife sanctuary in order to make sure it survived.

Nobody has any idea where its mother might be. It could be that it abandoned it for some reason. Then again, it could also be that it was killed by a predator and that that's why it never returned to its offspring.

For the time being, Beau, as the puggle was named, is busy enjoying the perks of having a human mother who makes sure it has everything it might need.

Sources say that, whenever feeding time comes, Beau's new mother simply pours some milk in the palm of her hand and the puggle turns into a weird-looking, living vacuum cleaner, sucking it clean.

Being raised by people, this young echidna will probably not return to the wild. Instead, it will likely spend its days at a wildlife sanctuary.
