Facebook has shown its power to connect people once again as two sisters who had never met were reunited after one of them posted a message on the social site looking for help in tracking down her birth mother.

Nicholle Oliver, from Pittsburgh, who was given for adoption as a baby, was very lucky to find her family in only one week after posting a picture of herself holding a sign on the social networking site. Her call for help was published on March 7 and was quickly shared nearly 5,000 times.

According to Daily Mail, the message written on a dry erase board read: “I was born on November 18, 1977 in Washington, Penn. I was put up for adoption through catholic charities. I am looking for my birth parents from Columbus, Ohio. My birth mother's name is Jodi Hildreth. She would be 64-years-old. Please share on Facebook.”

Thanks to the overwhelming response from regular people using Facebook and to a social media group called Search Squad, Nicholle managed to track down her long-lost family in a very short time.

Sadly, the 36-year-old woman found out that her mother, Jodi Hildreth, had died, but she also discovered she had two sisters she had no idea even existed – Rosie Briggs Franklin and Dollie Conant.

Just one week after the photo went viral, Nicole and Rosie met for the first time in Columbus, Ohio, and it certainly was a very emotional encounter. Shortly after, they drove to see their other sister, Dollie Conant, in Lima.

“It's unbelievable. I have this huge hole filled that I never thought would be filled. It's crazy,” Nicholle said, trying to express her emotion.

The older sisters knew their mother had another child, but they had been told that Nicholle was put up for adoption because she had health issues due to their mother's drug addiction. They were happy to find out that she was well and healthy.

“I'm just so happy that she's alive and that she's OK and she's beautiful and is living a good full life. And perfectly normal, perfectly normal, practically perfect in every way,” Rosie Franklin said, adding that she would have probably never known the truth had it not been for Nicholle's picture, because they knew her as “Jenni.”

Now that they are reunited, the three sisters, who have families and children of their own, have a chance to get to know each another and enjoy wonderful moments together.
