Adele may be one of the most successful and appreciated female singers of today but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t need singing lessons. In her case, though, it’s to preserve her beautiful voice, not to help her use it, it has emerged.

Just recently, Adele was forced to cancel her tour after losing her voice and, because she’s been asked to rest, she’s also searching for a good vocal coach to prevent things like this from ever happening.

Stuff.co.nz reports that she’s hired Ron Anderson, who also works with great voices Alicia Keys and Joss Stone, to help her use her voice in such a way as to prevent wear and tear.

“The expert teaches an alternative method that enables the vocal chords to avoid damage and Adele hopes his routine will prevent a repeat of the problems she faced earlier this month which led her to cancel an American tour,” the publication writes.

A source confirms for the British media that Anderson will help Adele preserve her voice, even assuming she doesn’t want to stop smoking.

“There are commonly two approaches singers take. They are called ‘singing through your chest’ or ‘singing through your head’,” a source familiar with the situation explains.

“Singing through your chest can increase the chances of calluses and nodules appearing on the vocal chords. Adele sings more through her chest at the moment,” says the insider.

Come to think of it, it would be a huge shame if Adele couldn’t put her vocal problems in the past, especially since she’s considered by critics and industry people alike the voice that could actually redeem the new generation of pop singers.

Richard Russell, founder of XL Recordings, where Adele is signed, is convinced that she can “save” the music industry, because it takes the focus off physical appearance and other marketing gimmicks and places right back on actual talent and a good voice, as it should be.
