“If I'm always working, my relationships fail,” Grammy-winning singer tells Vogue

Adele made a glorious comeback to live performing at this weekend's Grammy Awards 2012, where she was also the biggest winner of the night, but fans won't be able to enjoy her music for much longer. She's taking a break.

Featured in the latest issue of Vogue magazine, which also carries a stunning editorial with Adele, the singer opens up about her past year, becoming an international star and the best selling artist of the moment, the new man in her life and, of course, plans for the future.

Fans hoping to hear new music from Adele soon are bound to take this to heart: she's not going back in the studio right now, even if her doctors give her the all-clear after having laser surgery on her vocal chords.

Instead, she's taking a few years off so she can concentrate on her personal life.

“I am [expletive]-ing off for four or five years. If I am constantly working, my relationships fail. So at least now I can have enough time to write a happy record. And be in love and be happy,” Adele tells the publication.

“And then I don't know what I'll do. Get married. Have some kids. Plant a nice vegetable patch,” she adds.

When she comes back from her break, Adele won't be singing sad tunes anymore either. She tells Vogue she's done with the sad act – she wants to make and sing happy music for a change.

“Come on! I’m wifey material! I’m great. No one’s got to be brave,” she says.

“It’s not like, 'You [expletive] me over and I’m going to write a record and make you the most hated man in the world.' I am never writing a breakup record again, by the way. I’m done with being a bitter witch,” she says.

However, giving credit where credit is due, Adele admits that she owes her ex, the man who broke her heart and inspired the award-winning “21” album, a lot: not only for inspiring her to write these songs, but also for helping her find out what she wanted from a man in life.
